Dr.
Kathryn Sarpong graduated cum laude from Texas A&M College of
Veterinary Medicine in 2001. After graduating, she moved to West Los
Angeles and worked in a private specialty hospital refining internal
medicine and surgery skills. After a year, she missed Texas, and
returned to Dallas. Dr. Sarpong and Dr. Lavender decided to open Metro
Paws Animal Hospital to cater to the needs of small animals and their
families in East Dallas. Professional interests include geriatric care,
infectious diseases, dermatology, endocrinology, and internal medicine.
Dr. Sarpong completed her undergraduate studies in Chemical
Engineering at the University of Virginia. After graduation, she worked
for Merck, Inc on new drug development before returning to school to
pursue a lifelong love of veterinary medicine. Dr. Sarpong lives in Hollywood/Santa Monica (part of
greater Lakewood) with her husband, Benjamin, and two young daughters,
Abigail and Elouise. Her dog Noah has shared their home since being
adopted after being hit by a car as a puppy. He serves as a great
surrogate parent to cats and dogs spending time at the Sarpong house. Return to Staff Page
